Outcasts

At my first job in Sweden, I was welcomed by a group of ‘outcasts’, and felt right at home. We had all moved here because of our Swedish partners or for a new start. We were all foreigners, at different stages of adapting to a new way of life here. So we understood that challenges we all faced. Not Swedish enough to feel at home, but in our office, we were the ‘United Nations’ and took on the world as a unified sales team. Not wanting to let the team down, we looked after one another, motivated each other and looked out for the best interests of each other. We could share our ups and downs and could feel at home, event though we were not at home.

One by one the team members left. But that bond still remains. As we face uncertainty about our next moves in life, its good to know, there are people wishing the best of luck for each other. What one might actually call…friends?
