Not knowing what to expect before coming here, next stop on our ‘masogi’ brought us to the Navada Center of Applied Research at the University of Nevada, Reno. Welcoming us was Mark Genung, an experienced Naval officer, now head of flight operations at the Navada UAS test site. Alongside was Nishtha Mamgain, NCAR’s services coordinator.

Mark and Nishtha spoke about the services and facilities that NCAS has to offer. The US FAA has designated 7 test sites, of which NCAR is one of them. With access to indoor and massive outdoor flying areas, academics, facilities and a supportive ecosystem, it is understandable why many international companies call this home.
